Filter bags for used cooking oil and biodiesel

Staged filtration from coarse mesh down to fine felt, for collected oil and biodiesel feedstock.

Stage the filtration

Used oil carries everything from food debris to fine carbon, and fats blind a fine filter quickly. Working down in stages keeps each bag in service longer:

  1. 400 to 800 micron nylon mesh for crumb and coarse debris. Washable.
  2. 100 to 200 micron mesh or felt for the finer solids.
  3. Felt at 50 micron and below to polish. Ratings down to 1 micron are made to order.

Warm oil filters faster. Polyester felt and nylon mesh are both rated well above normal settling-tank temperatures.
