Felt traps particles through its depth and is a consumable. Mesh has an exact opening, rinses clean and is reused. Polyester felt General purpose, to about 150 °C. Not for strong alkalis. In stock. Polypropylene felt Resists acids and alkalis, to about 90 °C. The usual choice for chemicals and plating. Nomex felt For heat, to about 200 °C. PTFE felt The hottest and most aggressive liquids, to about 250 °C. Oil-absorbing felt Takes oil out of water: coolant and wash water. Nylon mesh Washable, precise cut-off. Not for acids. In stock. Polyester mesh Washable, copes with acids. Not for strong alkalis.
Sizes 1 to 4 Fit standard industrial bag filter housings. Ring socks Drop into 4 inch or 7 inch sump and tank holders. Pond bags An 11 inch drawstring neck, for pipes, outlets and ponds. Custom size Any other diameter, length or fitting, made to order.
The size of particle the sock stops. 1,000 micron is 1 mm; smaller is finer and fills sooner. 1 to 25 Polishing: haze and fine silt. 50 to 100 General purpose: anything you can see. 150 to 200 High flow: sand, swarf and debris. 400 to 800 Coarse straining: leaves, grit, protecting pumps.
